Friday, 18 December 2026
The government's calendar for 2026 lists 14 days off, and every one of them falls on a weekday. Three commemorate the island's own history: James Ronald Webster Day on 2 March, for the leader of the 1967 revolution; Anguilla Day, which marks the expulsion of the St Kitts police on 30 May 1967; and National Heroes and Heroines Day in December. Three more fall in a single week at the start of August, when August Monday, August Thursday and Constitution Day frame the Summer Festival.
Days that fall on a weekend are moved. Wikipedia's summary of the government's rule is that a fixed-date holiday falling on a Saturday or Sunday is taken on the next working day, and in 2026 Anguilla Day, which falls on Saturday 30 May, is kept on Monday 1 June. The same year shows an exception: National Heroes and Heroines Day, dated 19 December, falls on a Saturday and the official calendar gives Friday 18 December instead.

The calendar for 2027 comes from the holiday provider and has not yet been confirmed by an official list. Two of the provider's 2026 dates differed from the government calendar published in January 2026, the King's birthday and National Heroes and Heroines Day, and both have been corrected here; the 2027 dates for the same two days may move when the official calendar appears.
The Summer Festival, or Carnival, begins on the first Friday after the first Monday in August, so the festival's first weekend follows the three August holidays. Calypso competitions, j'ouvert, street dances, parades and boat races fill the week, and the round-the-island Champion of Champions boat race is held in August at the end of Boat Racing Week.
