Asia
No boundary in this catalogue is argued about as often as Asia's, and the United Nations does not settle it either: the commission it runs for the region counts France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom among its members. Eight regions divide the 46 countries here, and Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan are the three that are not sovereign states.

Common questions
Questions about Asia
Where does Asia end and Europe begin?
There is no physical boundary. The conventional line follows the Ural Mountains and the Emba River to the northern Caspian coast, and Transcaucasia is conventionally split between the two continents.
Are Hong Kong and Macau separate countries?
No. The roster records both as dependencies of China. Each keeps a flag, a currency and an internet domain of its own, which is why each has a page.
Why is Türkiye filed under Europe?
A country is filed once, under the continent of the institutions it belongs to. Türkiye's own page records that the greater part of its territory lies east of the straits.
